As a customer of Orchard View vets you will be required to share personal data with us. By signing up with Orchard

View Vets you are agreeing to our privacy policy and give consent to the way we handle and process your personal

data, as outlined below. This applies to both online and offline activities and is compliant with UK General Data

Protection Regulation (GDPR) law. You may withdraw this consent at any time, by contacting us on

The purpose of data collection is to enable Orchard View vets to:

- Provide your pets with veterinary services

- Schedule appointments

- Manage accounts including billing and payment processing

- Communicate with you about your pets health, including sending out reminders for health checks, flea/worm

treatment and vaccinations

- Marketing - where we have obtained specific consent, we may contact you for marketing purposes which

may be of benefit to you and your pets

Please be aware that if you opt out of all communication with us, you may remove the ability of the practice to send

vaccination or other procedural reminders to you.

The personal data that we collect:

- Client Information:

Name, address, contact details (telephone, email), and financial information.

- Pet Information:

Name, species, breed, age, medical history (including past and present illnesses, allergies, and

vaccinations), and treatment details.

- Medical information:

Data about your pet's medical condition, which may be considered sensitive or special category data under

the GDPR.

This data is collected via our website, via email, through online and paper forms and via phone calls.

How we store your personal data to others

Your personal data will be stored on our practice management system. This is a secure, password protected

system with restricted access to trained members of staff only. As per the legal requirements, we will

store your personal and accounting data for 7 years, after which it will be disposed of, either by removing

it from our system, or by shredding and destroying paper copies.

Sharing your personal data

We may share your data with others, but only to the extent that is necessary, for example with insurance

companies for the purposes of processing medical insurance claims, if we refer your pet to another clinic,

where we need to do so in order to provide the services you require of us, when it is in our legitimate

interest to do so (for example engaging debt collectors) or where we are required to do so within the law.

We will only share personal data for marketing purposes where consent has been obtained

Your rights

Under GDPR law your rights to your data include:

- Right to request a copy of your data from us

- Right to amend or change your data

- Right to have your data erased where necessary
